TRAINING DESCRIPTION

This course complements the basic training and tackles more advanced FME Desktop operations, with methods and techniques to get the most out of FME, improve process performance and build more powerful FME workspaces.

This course aims to make advanced FME Desktop features more accessible and teach you how to develop more powerful, efficient workspaces.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, you’ll be able to:  

  • Build attributes
  • Assess workspace performance
  • Optimize your workspaces
  • Read/write on the web
  • Create dynamic translations
  • Configure user parameters: published and private
  • Create custom transformers

PREREQUISITES

The FME Desktop – Basic course, or basic knowledge of FME

CONTENT

Session 1: Advanced Data Manipulation

  • Leverage Ordered Data
  • Improve Data Quality by Handling Null and Missing Values
  • Return on Using Conditional Values
  • Work with Multiple Data Models Using Lists

Session 2: Advanced reader and writer techniques

  • Read From and Write to Multiple Locations
  • Dynamic translations

Session 3: Performance optimization and Advanced user parameters

  • Visually Compare and Merge Workflows
  • Design For Performance
  • Optimize Workspace Performance
  • Working with FME parameters and user parameters

Session 4: Modular workspace design

  • Design Modular and Maintainable Workspaces with Custom Transformers
  • Build a Shared Library of Custom Transformers
