L\u2019int\u00e9gration des donn\u00e9es et l\u2019int\u00e9gration des applications, deux concepts bien distincts, repr\u00e9sentent souvent des d\u00e9fis de taille pour chaque organisation car elles exigent chacune des approches bien particuli\u00e8res. Mais avant d\u2019aborder les solutions potentielles, comprenons bien l\u2019enjeu.<\/p>\n

Toute organisation g\u00e8re des tonnes de donn\u00e9es provenant de diverses sources, sous diff\u00e9rents formats. Ces donn\u00e9es sont toutes \u00e9parpill\u00e9es, ce qui entrave leur exploitation unifi\u00e9e et \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle par les divers services de l\u2019organisation. Par cons\u00e9quent, il se pose le d\u00e9fi de les stocker dans un syst\u00e8me centralis\u00e9 (\u00ab entrep\u00f4t de donn\u00e9es \u00bb) auquel les diff\u00e9rents utilisateurs peuvent acc\u00e9der depuis leurs propres syst\u00e8mes. Ce processus de centralisation \u2013 l\u2019int\u00e9gration des donn\u00e9es \u2013 permet de contrer le cloisonnement des donn\u00e9es et am\u00e9liore la communication, la productivit\u00e9 et la prise de d\u00e9cisions \u00e0 tous les niveaux d\u2019une organisation.<\/p>\n

De la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on, toute organisation r\u00eave de g\u00e9rer l\u2019ensemble de ses activit\u00e9s et processus via un seul syst\u00e8me ou logiciel. Malheureusement, la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 est toute autre et chaque application est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 une palette \u00e9troite de t\u00e2ches. Cela oblige les organisations \u00e0 en utiliser une multitude qui sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement plus ou moins compatibles. Mais il est possible de faire un pont entre ces applications pour qu\u2019elles puissent communiquer entre elles sans heurt. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce processus \u2013 \u00ab l\u2019int\u00e9gration des applications \u00bb \u2013, on cr\u00e9e un r\u00e9seau qui permet l\u2019entr\u00e9e de donn\u00e9es dans n\u2019importe application qui les achemine ensuite aux autres syst\u00e8mes appropri\u00e9s, sans intervention manuelle. Cela a, en plus, l\u2019avantage d\u2019\u00e9viter les multiples saisies sources d\u2019erreurs et de perte de temps.<\/p>\n

Or, comment peut-on r\u00e9ussir de telles int\u00e9grations?<\/p>\n

FME – Une solution \u00e9prouv\u00e9e<\/h2>\n

La plateforme FME est depuis longtemps reconnue pour sa capacit\u00e9 de traitement de donn\u00e9es CAD et spatiales. Ax\u00e9e sur l\u2019approche ETL : Extract, Transform, Load (\u00ab Extraction, Transformation, Chargement \u00bb), FME permet de prendre en charge plus de 450 applications et formats de donn\u00e9es (spatiales ou non), pour faciliter l\u2019utilisation, la mise en relation et le traitement d\u2019une pl\u00e9thore de donn\u00e9es dans un seul et unique syst\u00e8me. Il n\u2019y a plus \u00e0 se soucier des exigences de chaque application ou syst\u00e8me puisque les mod\u00e8les de donn\u00e9es sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 int\u00e9gr\u00e9s dans FME.<\/p>\n

Par ailleurs, avec plus de 500 transformers, FME permet d\u2019appliquer les traitements n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 vos donn\u00e9es pour que vous puissiez bonifier et exporter celles-ci dans d\u2019autres syst\u00e8mes ou les envoyer \u00e0 d\u2019autres utilisateurs finaux.<\/p>\n

M\u00eame s\u2019il est plus reconnu comme un outil d\u2019int\u00e9gration de donn\u00e9es, FME sert aussi \u00e0 int\u00e9grer les syst\u00e8mes et applications. Les connexions sont alors \u00e9tablies avec l\u2019interface de programmation (API)* propre \u00e0 chaque application. Il existe, en effet, plusieurs options pour connecter les applications entres elles, que ce soit en utilisant des connecteurs d\u00e9j\u00e0 programm\u00e9s ou en d\u00e9veloppant son propre connecteur pour des cas plus particuliers.<\/p>\n

Bien qu\u2019il soit possible d\u2019int\u00e9grer des applications avec la seule version Desktop de FME, l\u2019utilisation de la version FME Server permet d\u2019orchestrer l\u2019ex\u00e9cution et l\u2019enchainement des traitements dans un environnement TI corporatif. En fait, vous pouvez d\u00e9finir pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment le moment o\u00f9 vos processus doivent \u00eatre lanc\u00e9s, ou encore leur attribuer des d\u00e9clencheurs comme l\u2019arriv\u00e9e d\u2019un courriel, le versement de donn\u00e9es dans un r\u00e9pertoire sp\u00e9cifique ou la modification d\u2019un fichier.<\/p>\n
