C\u2019est mercredi qu\u2019a eu lieu le grand d\u00e9voilement des gagnants des Prix d\u2019excellence FME<\/a>, lors d\u2019une session sp\u00e9ciale du FME World Fair 2021<\/em>. Cette ann\u00e9e 2021 fut un grand cru o\u00f9 nous avons re\u00e7u un nombre record de soumissions de projets d\u00e9montrant toute la vitalit\u00e9 et la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 de la communaut\u00e9 d\u2019utilisateurs FME.<\/p>\n

Les membres du jury ont d\u2019ailleurs d\u00fb faire des choix d\u00e9chirants dans la s\u00e9lection des laur\u00e9ats, ce qui les a forc\u00e9s \u00e0 ajouter des mentions sp\u00e9ciales \u00e0 certains projets qui se sont d\u00e9marqu\u00e9s diff\u00e9remment. Bien que les crit\u00e8res de s\u00e9lection aient \u00e9t\u00e9 bien d\u00e9finis au d\u00e9part, un difficile exercice de pond\u00e9ration a complexifi\u00e9 la t\u00e2che de d\u00e9partager les vainqueurs. Meilleur petit projet efficace<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Prix d\u00e9cern\u00e9 \u00e0 : Ville de Sacramento, Californie<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par Ryan Kirkham et Krystal Phaneuf, leur projet a permis de rationaliser et automatiser le processus de gestion des \u00e9chantillons sur la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019eau avec FME, Collector et ArcGIS Online. Ce projet a s\u00e9duit le jury par la simplicit\u00e9 conceptuelle des deux Workspaces<\/em> bidirectionnels entre la base de donn\u00e9es interne (LIMS) et l\u2019application Collector. Bien que la solution d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e contienne quelques complexit\u00e9s technologiques au niveau de l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019information \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur de l\u2019environnement TI de la ville, le jury est d\u2019avis que cette solution devrait inspirer un grand nombre d\u2019organisations souhaitant rationaliser ses processus de collecte d\u2019information au terrain, le tout en lien avec l\u2019esprit de simplicit\u00e9 et d\u2019efficacit\u00e9 de cette cat\u00e9gorie.<\/p>\n

Mention sp\u00e9ciale : Ville de Victoriaville, Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Soumis par Daniel Alvarez, le projet utilise la technologie FME pour int\u00e9grer de multiples syst\u00e8mes de la ville vers la base de donn\u00e9es SIG pour ensuite publier une carte interactive permettant aux citoyens et aux autres intervenants de la ville d’acc\u00e9der aux informations relatives au zonage et \u00e0 l\u2019occupation du territoire. Bien que le projet contienne quelques utilisations astucieuses de FME, le jury a \u00e9t\u00e9 principalement impressionn\u00e9 par le ratio \u00ab\u00a0effort technique\/retour sur investissement\u00a0\u00bb du projet ainsi que de son int\u00e9r\u00eat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral pour l’ensemble de la communaut\u00e9 SIG, \u00e0 savoir la centralisation de l\u2018information pour am\u00e9liorer la transparence des organisations municipales.<\/p>\n

Meilleur projet d’automatisation<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Prix d\u00e9cern\u00e9 \u00e0 : Ville de Toronto, Ontario<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par Valen Lau, le projet soumis utilise FME pour automatiser un long processus manuel de cr\u00e9ation des rapports requis pour la planification urbaine. Au-del\u00e0 de la complexit\u00e9 des Workspaces<\/em> requis, le jury, ainsi que certains participants pr\u00e9sents lors du d\u00e9voilement, a \u00e9t\u00e9 impressionn\u00e9 par le fait que ce projet repousse les limites de l’utilisation de FME dans la production d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments cartographiques, en mode PDF dans ce cas. Cela s\u2019av\u00e8re une utilisation moins commune de la technologie, mais qui pourra \u00eatre repris par plusieurs autres municipalit\u00e9s. Ce projet a de plus significativement am\u00e9lior\u00e9 la productivit\u00e9 de l\u2019ensemble de l\u2019\u00e9quipe Graphics & Visualization<\/em> de la ville, \u00e9l\u00e9ment ayant \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 pris en compte dans l’analyse.<\/p>\n

Mention sp\u00e9ciale : Ville de Richmond Hill, Ontario<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Soumis par Dan Bainbridge, le projet consiste en l\u2019utilisation de FME pour la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un outil de gestion des actifs d’entreprise, permettant une gestion optimale et strat\u00e9gique des actifs de la ville. Le jury a \u00e9t\u00e9 impressionn\u00e9 par l\u2019envergure du projet, \u00e0 savoir que FME a permis d\u2019int\u00e9grer, manipuler et valider une grande quantit\u00e9 de donn\u00e9es provenant de multiples sources vari\u00e9es telles que des syst\u00e8mes d\u2019entreprises, des fichiers Excel et autres flat files<\/em>. Le jury aime \u00e9galement le r\u00e9sultat ayant permis \u00e0 la Ville d’\u00e9conomiser environ 50% des co\u00fbts d’immobilisations de la solution logicielle pour ensuite r\u00e9investir ces montants dans l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de la qualit\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es!<\/p>\n

Pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par Lucie Boucher et Patrice Marseille, ce projet est le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019un portail web, incluant une interface particuli\u00e8rement simple et conviviale, b\u00e2ti sur la technologie FME Server. Le projet a s\u00e9duit le jury, ainsi que les participants pr\u00e9sents lors du d\u00e9voilement, par son originalit\u00e9 ainsi que par l’utilisation tr\u00e8s astucieuse de FME Server afin de rendre le projet \u00e9lastique, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire permettant de d\u00e9mocratiser les multiples possibilit\u00e9s offertes par les Workspaces<\/em> FME pour d\u00e9ployer des applications s\u2019adressant \u00e0 des client\u00e8les vari\u00e9es, internes et externes, et ce, sur tout type de plateformes. Un autre avantage non n\u00e9gligeable est qu\u2019il permet de r\u00e9duire consid\u00e9rablement l’achat de licences pour usage sur le terrain ou l’ajout d’\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0utilisateurs nomm\u00e9s\u00a0\u00bb co\u00fbteux.<\/p>\n

Mention sp\u00e9ciale : Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec, Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Soumis par Dany Gauthier, le projet d\u2019Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec se distingue par l\u2019utilisation de FME dans un contexte inhabituel (du moins pour Consortech), c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire d’inspection de g\u00e9om\u00e9trie de structures de pont roulant afin de d\u00e9tecter les d\u00e9formations. Outre l\u2019utilisation ing\u00e9nieuse et inhabituelle des fonctions FME permettant la comparaison de nuages \u200b\u200bde points, le jury a \u00e9t\u00e9 impressionn\u00e9 par l\u2019am\u00e9lioration marqu\u00e9e du processus obtenue par l\u2019utilisation de FME. En effet, l\u2019\u00e9quipe d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie d\u2019Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec est pass\u00e9e d\u2019un processus de 10 mois g\u00e9r\u00e9 par une \u00e9quipe de consultants externes \u00e0 un processus de moins de deux mois, g\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019interne et pouvant \u00eatre r\u00e9utilis\u00e9 pour d\u2019autres installations.<\/p>\n
