Malgr\u00e9 le fait que la technologie FME soit principalement reconnue pour ses capacit\u00e9s \u00e0 transformer les donn\u00e9es g\u00e9ospatiales et CAD, elle demeure toutefois une formidable et bien peu co\u00fbteuse alternative pour r\u00e9aliser des passerelles entre les diff\u00e9rentes applications municipales, allant au-del\u00e0 des consid\u00e9rations g\u00e9omatiques. C\u2019est d\u2019ailleurs un sujet de plus en plus d\u2019actualit\u00e9 consid\u00e9rant le rapprochement que l\u2019on observe entre les fonctions g\u00e9omatiques et les d\u00e9partements des TI.<\/p>\n

Voici l\u2019histoire d\u2019une municipalit\u00e9 de la r\u00e9gion m\u00e9tropolitaine de Vancouver qui s\u2019est donn\u00e9 la mission de cr\u00e9er de l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 organisationnelle par des initiatives de transformation num\u00e9rique. Sachant que le d\u00e9partement de g\u00e9omatique utilisait FME, le directeur du service informatique de la Ville a pris connaissance des capacit\u00e9s d’int\u00e9gration de donn\u00e9es du logiciel et a souhait\u00e9 \u00e9valuer si elles pouvaient remplacer les scripts ETL existants servant de passerelles entre les diff\u00e9rentes applications.<\/p>\n

FME comme alternative efficace<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Les scripts PHP existants \u00e9taient stables, mais difficiles et co\u00fbteux \u00e0 maintenir, exigeant une connaissance approfondie du code PHP et des processus d\u2019affaires de la ville, ce que pratiquement personne de l\u2019\u00e9quipe informatique ne poss\u00e9dait. Le directeur recherchait une approche plus simple, plus visuelle et\u00a0low-code<\/em>\u00a0pour relier ses applications.<\/p>\n

D\u00e9marrer avec une preuve de concept<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa vaste exp\u00e9rience d’int\u00e9gration d’applications, Consortech a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une preuve de concept pour la Ville qui a confirm\u00e9 la faisabilit\u00e9, les estimations de co\u00fbts et d\u00e9termin\u00e9 le retour sur investissement attendu.<\/p>\n

La solution a remplac\u00e9 les scripts qui reliaient les donn\u00e9es de transaction d’un syst\u00e8me bancaire (PCard) avec le syst\u00e8me ERP de la ville.<\/p>\n

Ce fut un succ\u00e8s total – tous les composants critiques du syst\u00e8me existant ont \u00e9t\u00e9 recr\u00e9\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re transparente dans FME. Que ce soit de l’ex\u00e9cution des workflows planifi\u00e9s et du mappage des attributs \u00e0 la conversion des donn\u00e9es en une structure XML stricte jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la transmission des donn\u00e9es converties vers le service Web de l\u2019ERP via les services SOAP.<\/p>\n

L’\u00e9tape suivante consistait \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper une solution plus robuste et enti\u00e8rement automatis\u00e9e qui recr\u00e9ait les \u00e9tapes initiales et plus encore. Elle \u00e9tait \u00e9galement capable de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des rapports d\u00e9taill\u00e9s sur le statut et l’heure des transactions dans le syst\u00e8me ERP et d’envoyer des notifications par courriel sur l’\u00e9tat des transactions.<\/p>\n

Une solution rentable et \u00e9volutive<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Ce qui a d\u00e9but\u00e9 avec une preuve de concept a \u00e9volu\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re organique vers la migration de plusieurs autres passerelles entre les diff\u00e9rentes applications de la ville, telles que :\u00a0<\/p>\n
