As a leader in the creation and management of spatial data, AutoCAD® Map 3D is based on Autodesk’s AutoCAD® technology. Map 3D offers high-performing geospatial capabilities through the use of FDO technology to ensure quicker and more precise designs.
Integrating FDO (Feature Data Object) technology, AutoCAD Map 3D provides users with direct access to various sources of data, satellite images or aerial photos, and to WMS and WFS services for access to public data. Direct access to data means data integrity is preserved because no conversion is required. Thanks to AutoCAD Map 3D and its highly performing technologies, it is possible to share spatial and non-spatial information more smoothly with minimum effort.
Map 3D is an application that simplifies the use of GIS data by:
- Reduction in delays for obtaining a trustworthy geobase through easy integration of spatial data coming from different departments and in different formats;
- Increased productivity of the production team, allowing several workers to simultaneously work and modify the same drawing;
- Ease of use providing users who have AutoCAD knowledge to work with the Map 3D application independently.
The integration of the infrastructure data management module adds an administrative management tool to Map 3D and also provides an impressive tool for creating reports. With this module, the data is secure because it is stored in an Oracle database (available in the Enterprise version of Map 3D). Work processes implemented in the infrastructure data management module include a sequence of predetermined actions, greatly reducing the risk of data entry errors and ensuring quality work. This powerful, open application makes it possible to:

As a result of the changes arising from Quebec’s cadastral renovation, Consortech created the MuniSIG Cadastre solution to build and update the renovated cadastre; it also created the MuniSIG Matrice-Réno to produce a graphic matrix covering renovated lands.
For intelligent management of municipal infrastructure data, Consortech proposes its MuniSIG Réseaux solution. This solution relies on a unique data storage facility and ensures the maintenance of a data structure, as well as the connectivity and synchronicity between descriptive and graphic data.
